Don’t Let Ugly Feet Cramp Your Style
Walking the streets or hills and vales around Reading, Berks and the Thames Valley can certainly put a lot of wear and tear on those feet of yours. Those same feet we all take for granted, just like we do our hearts and lungs, but without them or when they don’t function as we’re used to we are suddenly put out like we could never have imagined.
Walking and running is something we all do as naturally as breathing so why should we bother paying too much attention to our feet? Surely it’s only the old and infirm that need to start worrying on that count?
Well no – you really do need to take very good care of your feet from as young as you possibly can. It’s not unusual even for teenagers to start developing problems because they naturally take their feet for granted and find it hard to believe that as a young person their feet and therefore their ability to walk and run normally are a ‘given’.
Young people should probably be encouraged to view their feet through the eyes of vanity. Do they actually look good? Would a partner be put off or disgusted by the sight and smells of problem feet?
Ugly feet can cramp your style as fast as an eye blink.
If you are after sophistication or a well-prepped image, then you should give the proper kind of attention that this part of your body requires. Our feet, being the most used and stressed parts of our body are one of those that usually develop skin care problems and allergies. If you think they are prone to these things because they are always kept confined on our footwear, then you are absolutely wrong. This very fact is actually one of the things that make it very sensitive to certain dilemmas.
For example, your feet can develop calluses because of the constant friction between its skin and the insides of our shoes. When these calluses are not removed, they can develop into cracked skin which can be very painful and can affect your daily activities. Since our feet are also always inside our stuffy shoes, it often attracts bacteria which thrive on moist and dark places. These bacteria can therefore lead to fungal infections and other skin problems.
If you want to ensure that your feet are always in top shape, you need to adopt a regular skin care routine for it. This need not be complicated and time-consuming. You don’t also need to buy a lot of products for it except for an exfoliating and moisturizing foot cream. Once every two weeks, perform your very own foot scrub by soaking your feet in water for a couple of minutes and scrubbing it with the help of your exfoliating foot cream. After rinsing, pat it dry with a soft towel and apply a moisturizing foot cream to seal in the moisture and to keep your skin from becoming dry. Exfoliating should be done for twice a month only at most. Scrubbing your skin for more than the recommended number of times can lead to raw and sensitive skin.
Besides from doing your own foot scrubs, you should also have a regular foot care routine to do every day. Before going to bed, wash your feet with soap and warm water. Even though your feet have not been exposed for most of the day, there are still germs on it because of its confinement inside your stuffy footwear. You should also make application of a moisturizing foot cream a routine every night. Much like our face, the skin on our feet also needs to be kept moisturized and refreshed every day.
